While Yang it is a male energy that has inward centrifugal direction and results in contraction. Entire universe embodies Yin and Yang energy, e.g. day and night, high tide and low tide, inside of our body there are many examples of expansions and contractions: heart, lungs, stomach when digesting, etc. According to this diet, to lead a healthy and long life it is required to eat products with Yin and Yang components evenly. Once this balance is disrupted the body turns into an excellent ground for illnesses.

Although these two diets, Mediterranean diet and Kushi diet, came from different continents and opposite parts of the world they have many things in common and a sole noble aim. They have fresh-unprocessed-plant orientation. The dietary plans comprise many vegetables and fruit, beans, nuts, whole grain, complex carbohydrates. Both diets are against the foods rich in animal fats. The best substitute is the olive oil or any other vegetable oils. Excessive consumption of dairy products such as cheese, milk, and yogurt is also highly restricted. When following these two patterns a person must be moderate in eating poultry and fish and in drinking alcohol, if not to eliminate it forever. Even the pyramids of these diets are like twins. It is hardly possible to find divergences in them.

Not only the ingredients but the components of the reviewed diets form unity. The two diets are an excellent and effective “weapon” against a list of unmerciful and complex diseases. Among them is cancer, heart diseases, diabetes and many others. Unfortunately lately cancer has become one of the most widespread, numerous and dangerous diseases of the world. It is hard to treat it unless we help our body to restore its strengths. The most beneficial way to it is certainly food. The scientists have discovered that there is a direct correlation between the improper diet and illnesses. To be healthy, active, fit and cherish longevity we must regain the balance with the inward and outward environment.

Both the Mediterranean diet and the Kushi diet are at your disposal to achieve it. They help not only cure but also prevent many diseases which are the consequence of poor dietary habits. Simple, plain and quickly prepared food is adaptive to the busy schedule and generous in torrents of energy which is terribly required in our dynamic world. The only distinguishing feature of the Kushi diet is the need in more relaxed tranquil lifestyle to attain better results. Do not forget that it is based on the eastern philosophies which desire us to spend enough time in prayer and meditation, to live in harmony with the nature.
